When the little boy from the neighborhood handed the butterfly to my little kid with gentle care, she smiled at him and babbled her thanks. But then something even more beautiful happened - she forgot about the butterfly entirely, instead seeing something magical reflected in this kind boy's eyes. They both smiled at each other with that pure recognition that only children possess.
My sparrows settled peacefully near both the children, and as if the universe itself was blessing this moment, a light drizzle began to fall - nature's gentle approval of a friendship born through butterfly wings and innocent kindness.
I stood there in silence and admiration at these two beautiful souls communicating silently with immense joy. I truly saw that bright Aura again as they both stood together with that butterfly while my sparrows guarded that Aura. This time it was not like a flash light, It stayed there surrounding them, the butterfly stood in the middle radiating the Aura around the children, I was awestruck and just stood there.
Patti from inside the house started shouting, "It's raining! Bring the child inside the house!" but she didn't realize the Aura surrounding these two children was already protecting them from the rain.
Still, I went ahead and slowly lifted my daughter and asked the boy to come inside our house, but he was just smiling and emitting so much kindness from his eyes for her. When I went near them, the Aura was there spreading even more including me as well in it, I too didn't feel the rain drops when I was inside the Aura, Both children didn't even know that I was there talking to them.
Again, Patti shouted from inside, "Why haven't you both come inside?" I gently asked the boy "How did he come here?, please wait here, I will come and take you inside or please walk with me now" as took my daughter inside I was looking back at this boy, the boy never seemed to have heard anything I said, for both the children I was not there at all, as I took my child inside, both children started waving at each other.
I told my kid, "We will play with him tomorrow. Now it's raining." As I was speaking my daughter was trying to look at the boy standing there and smile at him, I turned around fully and asked the boy to hold my hands and come inside, the boy never looked at me, he was just looking at my kid.
I did not want to waste more time so I rushed into the house with my kid. My kid was more interested to stay with the boy, I was not happy to take her inside without the boy, I now told my kid, wait inside Kanna, I will then go and get the boy also inside our home, now my kid heard me, somehow she understood what I said and now she looked at me gracefully and smiled.
I understood the situation and rushed inside the home with my kid.
I thought I would first take the boy inside our house and then go and call someone from the boy's house to take him to their house. I was worried he was still standing in the rain.
With much dilemma, I just took my daughter into the house and handed her to Patti. As Patti started wiping her head, I saw that one of her shoes was missing. I didn't know where it fell and thought it should be in the garden.
But, wait!!, I can find the shoes later, I wanted to take the boy inside as the rain was getting heavier, I was rushing to the gate, but before that, this boy had come past the gate and is already inside our house and was holding my daughter's missing shoe in his hand, still holding the same smile and kindness emitting from his eyes.
The moment the new boy came inside our house, my daughter was slipping from Patti's grip and trying to reach out to him. The aura came back into our house, and so did my sparrows, again trying to guard the Aura surrounding the children.
I took the shoe from the boy's hand and placed both shoes in the corner. Patti asked me, "Who is this boy?" she was also seeing the Aura now, I can sense the strange surprise in her face. I told her, "It should be the new neighbor's boy." Patti immediately said he is also wet and told me to wipe his head and take an umbrella to leave him at his house. I gently took the towel and wiped his head. He was giggling, and my daughter joined him.
They both had a good laugh as I wiped his head. His perfectly placed hair started to point in all directions, looking at this my daughter started to laugh more. The boy, never bothered about his hair but joined my daughter in her laugh. This is pure innocent love flowing through, I realized. All this happened in just a few minutes.
I heard someone calling out loud in the neighbor's house. I realized someone was looking for the boy, and I waved my hand outside and asked the elderly lady who was looking for the boy, "Are you looking for this boy?" She smiled and asked, "How did he come there?" It should be his grandmother, I guessed.
Patti invited the lady inside, and they started getting acquainted with each other. So did the children. My sparrows, who usually stay on my shoulders, were around the children.
I just walked to the corner to properly place my daughter's shoes. There was some pleasant feeling that surrounded my stomach, but I couldn't understand it.
After a while, the boy's grandmother took him to their house, and my daughter was just looking in the direction where the boy went and was calling "Buu! Buu!"
Patti and I looked at each other, knowing this was pure innocent love radiating joy and expressing the divine presence before us.
After this eventful day, tonight, those first shoes sit by the door, slightly scuffed now from daily adventures, but somehow even more precious. They are now a symbol of all the adventures and growth that have occurred.
Tomorrow will bring new walks, new discoveries, new moments of wonder as she continues to explore the world one confident step at a time. I am sure she is going to have a new companion who will join her in the explorations.
Patti's finger might get a well-deserved rest now as there is a new hand which my kid can hold onto, but Patti's heart - like mine - will forever carry the memory of those first precious walks, when a small hand gripped her finger with complete trust and taught us both that the most beautiful journeys are measured not in miles, but in moments of smiles from these miraculous triumphs.
During these days of her walking, I just witnessed my soul unfold and grow before me. Oh my Vinayaga! God bless these children, bless my small sparrows, let the Aura shine brighter every day and let the "Buu! Buu!" - the divine guidance always be there uniting these souls, protecting them and guiding them and making all their wishes true! Long live these kids enjoying thoroughly experiencing every ounce of the life's beauty and goodness that is there, Let their bond endure and grow through all seasons of life.
